When you’re dining out with the family, you want a place that feels relaxed and comfortable, with a menu that’ll cater to the whole group. These family-friendly restaurants come with playgrounds, kids’ menus and other features that both parents and kids will love.
Wacko Burgers
When the kids are asking for a trip to Mickey D’s, take them to Wacko Burgers instead! Famed for serving some of the best burgers in Bali, this relaxed eatery also serves yummy milkshakes and ice cream floats that the kids will love.
Bucu
This cute restaurant in Umalas has become a favourite among expat families. It’s easy to see why. The food is delicious (both Western and Indonesian options are available) and their cakes and pastries simply melt in your mouth. Upstairs, the venue looks like a chic French bistro, but what really makes this place a winner is a fabulous playground waiting downstairs.
Taulan Social Hideout
Taulan Social Hideout is a beautiful restaurant surrounded by rice paddies in Kerobokan. The garden-themed restaurant has a playground and a pool (with a shallow section for the kiddos) and plenty of room to run and play. The whole menu is family-friendly (featuring pizza, BBQs and more) and there’s a special menu for kids, too.
Bo & Bun
This chic Asian eatery is a great choice for when you want to appease the kiddos but still want to enjoy a beautifully crafted meal. The restaurant serves delicious pho and banh mi (the “Try Everything” plate is also a great choice!), with a kids’ menu and colouring books provided.
Milk & Madu
Milk & Madu has two very popular outlets in Canggu. Both restaurants offer fun playgrounds and regular activities to keep the kids occupied while the parents sip perfectly brewed lattes. The relaxed setting is perfect for enjoying brunch, lunch or dinner with the whole family.
Family-friendly beach clubs
Nothing says Bali holiday quite like a day spent relaxing by the pool. These Seminyak beach clubs will welcome you and your little ones with open arms.
Ku De Ta
Ku De Ta is one of the most famous beach clubs on the island – but did you know that it’s also incredibly family-friendly? Every week, Ku De Ta hosts Family Sunday with arts and crafts and other fun activities for the kiddos. They also have a special kids’ menu available, including pizza, pasta – and lamington ice cream sandwiches!
Potato Head
Bali vibes for the parents, yummy eats for the littles – Potato Head has it all! This iconic venue has large lawns to play on and a pool to splash in, and the restaurant also has a dedicated kids’ menu. With artworks highlighting environmental sustainability, there is something interesting to look at for the whole family.
Mano
Mano is a great place for enjoying a relaxed afternoon with the family. Located on Petitenget Beach and styled with bohemian flair, Mano will keep kids entertained with their swimming pool and fun beanbags. They also serve gelato by the scoop – something the kids are sure to appreciate!
SugarSand
SugarSand is one of those venues that the whole family will love. Overlooking Double Six Beach, the restaurant has a sleek design and serves fabulous food and cocktails. The amazing staff also deserves a special mention. SugarSand has a kids’ menu (raise your hand if you want chicken nuggets!), including a special breakfast spread designed with kids in mind – hello, Choco Loops!
Playgrounds
All parents know that sometimes, kids just need to blow off some steam and need things to do. Let your kids run wild at the best playgrounds in the local area.
Waka Waka
This underwater-themed playground has plenty to keep your kids occupied, including slides, tunnels, a ball pit, toys and an arts and crafts area. The entrance fee also includes a kids’ meal and a pair of socks (which are required inside the playground). For the parents, there is a café right next to the playground, with views overlooking Double Six Beach.
Parklife
Located in trendy Canggu, Parklife is a real one-stop shop for families. They have large indoor and outdoor play areas with plenty of slides, jungle gyms and toys, and offer a slew of guided activities to boot. Parklife also has a drop-off kids club for when parents need a little me-time. There is a cute café onsite, with views looking over the rice fields.
Play n Learn
Play n Learn is a large indoor playground located at Mall Bali Galeria. There is plenty for the kids to do here, with multiple slides, tunnels, trampolines, ball pits and a huge selection of toys. Afterwards, the whole family can shop for souvenirs or enjoy a coffee at the mall.
Waterparks
Get ready for some fun in the sun! When the kids want to splash and play, treat them to a day at Bali’s best waterparks.
Waterbom
There’s a reason every single travel guide lists Waterbom as a must-visit for families – this waterpark really is that amazing! Built-in a lush, jungle-like setting, Waterbom has something for everyone, from thrilling rides to more mellow slides and a large kiddie area, too. Even the food here is top-notch.
Splash
Splash is a great option if you’ve already done Waterbom or just don’t feel like making the drive over to Kuta, as Splash is located closer by in Canggu (it’s also more affordable than Waterbom). Besides the pools and waterslides, Splash also has Finns Recreation Club located right next door, featuring a bowling alley, restaurants, trampoline centre and more.
